Contact-making event: Erasmus+ Youth and European Solidarity Corps – What’s in it for organisations of or working with deaf and hard of hearing young people?
This partnership-building activity is aimed at organisations of or that support and work directly with deaf and hard of hearing young people and are interested in international youth work and volunteering.
Description
We are looking for participants who have a project idea, are developing a project and are facing barriers, or have a project and are looking for partners or networks. Erasmus+ and the ESC want to connect with participants and organisations and provide spaces and workshops to network, learn, teach and develop your ideas or projects.
What to expect:
- Networking: Meet potential partners from various organizations, share your work, and explore ideas for collaborative projects under Erasmus+ and the European Solidarity Corps.
- Project Development: Brainstorm and begin shaping ideas for inclusive projects that support deaf and hard of hearing youth in international volunteering or youth work.
- Learning & Sharing: Discover successful practices, discuss common challenges, and find practical solutions to enhance accessibility in the youth programs.
- Erasmus+ and European Solidarity Corps Insights: Understand how Erasmus+ and ESC can support your project ideas, address common challenges (like communication barriers), and learn about funding options for individual needs
- Language and Accessibility: The working language is English, supported by International Sign interpretation. In case of individual needs, it is possible to join this event together with an accompanying person.
Who Can Join?
- Representatives and project managers from organisations from and for deaf and hard of hearing persons working or looking to start working with Erasmus+ Projects.
- Youth workers (persons who work with youngsters on a regularly basis in an organisation or an informal group).
- Organisations of or working with deaf and hard of hearing young people.
- Change makers, multipliers and/or engaged young people that are empowered and motivated to bring in the experience of young people with fewer opportunities into the PBA.
- Individual Participants (from the target group) - Having a project idea and looking to conect.
- Other public or non-public organisations interested in inclusive international youth work with deaf / hard of hearing young persons.
- A maximum of 25 participants can join, with full commitment to the event required.
Arrival on 26th February 2025 latest at 19:00 CEST. Departure on the 2nd of March 2025 after breakfast.

The event is organised within the framework of the Strategic Partnership for Inclusion (SPI) – a coordinated approach of 21 Erasmus+ Youth and European Solidarity Corps National Agencies (NAs) and the SALTO Inclusion & Diversity Resource Centre. Its aim is to involve more organisations working in relevant fields for inclusion & diversity, as well as to reach out to organisations working with or interested in working with the EU youth programmes in an inclusive way and to increase the participation of young people with fewer opportunities in the Erasmus+ Youth programme and the European Solidarity Corps. Specifically, it aims to provide a space for organisations of and working with deaf and hard of hearing young people to support their networking and creation new projects under Erasmus+ and ESC.
Accommodation and food
The participating NAs of this offer will organise the accommodation and cover the costs for accommodation and food from 26th February 2025, dinner, till 2nd of March, breakfast. Accomodation in Single Rooms.

Participation fee
This project is financed by the participating National Agencies (NAs) of the Erasmus+ Youth in Action Programme. The participation fee varies from country to country. Please contact your National Agency or SALTO Resource Centre (SALTO) to learn more about the participation fee for participants from your country.
Travel reimbursement
Please contact your NA or SALTO in order to know whether they would support your travel costs. If yes, after being selected, get in touch with your NA or SALTO again to learn more about the overall procedure to arrange the booking of your travel tickets and the reimbursement of your travel expenses.
