Europe Goes Local: Using Erasmus+ KA153 Mobility Projects to Strengthen Local Youth Work

The training course is part of the Europe Goes Local project, which aims to strengthen the youth work community of practice at the local level, in line with the European Youth Work Agenda and from the perspective of local youth work actors. The course aims to support youth workers in developing project applications for Erasmus+ Mobility of Youth Workers (KA153) projects which can have impact on their work in their specific settings.

The EGL encourages transnational cooperation among municipalities and integrating a European dimension into local youth policies. It contributes to providing young people with support in addressing a wide range of social challenges.

Overall aim of the training course

In line with EGL goals, the training course aims to support youth workers from rural and remote areas n developing project applications for Mobility of Youth Workers (KA153) projects that are relevant for needs identified at local and municipal level, to learn more about their implementation, and to encourage networking and cooperation among municipalities.

Specific objectives

During the training course, the participants will:

• learn about quality development and implementation of KA153 - Mobility of Youth Workers - projects;
• exchange practical experience and explore how such initiatives can contribute to strengthening the quality of youth work in their municipalities and their local communities;
• have an opportunity to learn more about successfully engaging in European co-operation and Erasmus+ partnership, to link with other organisations active in the field and develop initial partnerships.

Profile of participants

The training course is designed for both municipal staff responsible for or involved in the youth sector and youth workers from non-governmental organisations and institutions. We particularly encourage applications from participants working in remote and less accessible areas and those with fewer opportunities. The training course primarily targets participants from EGL countries.

Why using Mobility of Youth Workers (KA153) Erasmus projects framework?

This is an action type that supports the professional development of youth workers and thereby the development of quality youth work at local, regional, national, European and international level;

They can influence local youth work practices and contribute to capacity building for quality youth work of the participants and their organisation/institution i.e. making impact on regular work with young people;

They provide non-formal and informal learning opportunities contributing to high-quality individual practice, as well as to the evolution of youth work organisations and systems;

They create a community of youth workers that can support the quality of projects and activities for young people in EU programmes and beyond.

Practicalities

Training course will take place in Belgrade, Serbia. Accommodation and meals for the duration of the activity will be provided by the Serbian National Agency.

In case you are selected, you will receive an email with more information about your stay in Belgrade. Programme of the activity will be included in the infopack.

You should arrive in Belgrade on Monday, 7 December 2026. The programme starts on Tuesday, 8 December 2026, but there will be a welcome dinner on 7 December at 19:00 at the hotel. The programme will finish with lunch at 13:00 CET on Thursday, 10 December 2026.

Prior to the training, a short preparatory webinar on Youth Workers Mobility projects will take place, covering the types of activities, target groups, rules and budget. The webinar will last approximately 1.5 hours. All selected participants are required to participate.

Unless specified otherwise, the hosting NA or SALTO of this offer will organise the accommodation and covers the costs for accommodation and food.
