The aim of the event is to present initiatives and practices related to the role of sport as a social and educational tool, with particular emphasis on the areas of youth work: inclusion, integration, education, promotion of values and tolerance, combating discrimination and exclusion.
Profile of participants:
The event is addressed to representatives of sports clubs, organizations and institutions operating in the area of grassroots and social sports, people working with or for young people, trainers, coaches, educators, experts, for whom sport is not only a training tool, but an educational and social, inclusive and integrative tool.
The event consists of two parts:
- December 12, 2024: Erasmus+ Sport Conference, the aim of which is to present initiatives, good practices and opportunities for cooperation in the area of sports and physical activity, with particular emphasis on grassroots sports, inclusion and education through sports. In addition to presenting programs and initiatives, including: Erasmus+ Sport program, European Solidarity Corps, European Week of Sport, Inclusive Games, during the Conference there will be two plenary sessions: a) on sport as an educational and social tool and b) the importance and meaning of mental training - in sport and in everyday life. The sessions will be attended by practitioners, representatives of sports organizations, Olympic medalists.
In addition to the international group of participants, the Conference will be attended by representatives of Polish organizations, institutions, sports associations and federations, the Polish Paralympic Committee (including beneficiaries of the Erasmus+ Sport program), the Ministry of Sport and Tourism, the European Commission, the European youth information network Eurodesk. The Conference participants will also include athletes, including Olympians and Paralympians. In total, approx. 120 people will take part in the event. The event will be broadcast live online and translated into English/Polish.
- December 13, 2024: workshops on youth work using sport as a tool for achieving social goals (inclusion – integration – combating exclusion and discrimination – promotion of values and tolerance – social inclusion). The workshops will be based on the effects of work related to the implementation of the YouSports initiative (since 2022), whose representatives will be present at the workshops, and on the experience and practice of the participants. The workshops will be conducted in English, for a group of approx. 45 people. The workshop group will also have the opportunity to learn about proven tools for working with young people using sport and physical activity, presented by the V4 Sport Foundation, a beneficiary of the Erasmus+ Sport program (Action 1 and 2).

10:15-14:00 – Interactive workshops around social sport in youth work. Using sport as a tool for inclusion, education, integration, equality. Detailed discussion topic will focus on: what is social sport? What’s its structure, methodology, tools? What activities it includes? What is social sport for you, what results, changes would you like to achieve? In which areas? What kind of collaboration you look for? Detailed report will be made after.

This project is financed by the participating National Agencies (NAs) of the Erasmus+ Youth in Action Programme. The participation fee varies from country to country.
