The aim of this study session is to equipe adequately participants for them to be able to create positive narratives that ensure young refugees and migrants feel valued, accepted, and a sense of belonging in their new homes
Description
For participants to be able to create positive narratives that ensure young refugees and migrants feel valued, accepted, and have a sense of belonging in their new homes, and to help make these new homes welcoming, inclusive places that are free from discrimination, where people can share and freely express their different cultures, and where the value that migrants and refugees bring to their societies is understood and celebrated.
Objectives
- Participants connect, learn, share their experience and knowledge with each other in ways that make them feel motivated and inspired to take action
- Participants develop and strengthen their knowledge, awareness and understanding of the key narratives and stories about migrants in their contexts
- Pax develop a deep understanding about the key human rights issues impacting refugees and migrants and host communities
- Pax develop skills, knowledge, competencies and confidence to work with young people to develop impactful stories that promote rights-based approaches and positively change the narrative about refugees and migrants
- Participants develop realistic and realisable proposals and plans to deliver impactful story telling projects/initiatives/actions that will change the narrative towards refugees and migrants in their home context
- Participants develop an understanding of the role of CoE in supporting refugees and migrants – key tools, knowledge approaches and policies
Accommodation and food
Accomondation and three meals per day are offered by the Youth Department of the Council of Europe at the EYCB

Participation fee
All costs including travel expenses, accommodation and food will be covered. The enrolment fee for study sessions is set at € 50 per participant. The fee is deducted from the refund of travel expenses.
