Strengthening Youth Participation Mechanisms at the EU Level

This course is a 4-day training arranged by the Spanish Youth Council in order to discuss relevant youth participation mechanisms at the EU level. It will gather 30 youth representatives from National Youth Councils.

Description

The Spanish National Agency (Injuve) along with the Spanish Youth Council, an umbrella organization representing the Spanish youth voices which comprises about 70 organizations (among Regional Youth Councils, national, youth, political and religious organizations) are hosting this training course targeting Youth Board Members representatives linked to National Youth Councils all over Europe.

The aim of this training course is to give the opportunity to discuss about relevant topics related to strengthening the youth participation mechanisms at the EU level such as the Youth Test and “Vote at 16”. This space will be addressed for National Youth representatives. Another relevant topic will be the European Funding mechanism, especially by trickling the Erasmus+ Programme and its future.

The general objective is to strengthen the capacities of National Youth Council representatives to effectively influence youth participation mechanisms and decision-making processes at European level.

The specific objectives are:

  • To analyze the current state of youth participation in the European Union, identifying key challenges and opportunities for its strengthening.
  • To promote the exchange of experiences and good practices among National Youth Council representatives regarding advocacy and youth participation.
  • To deepen participants’ understanding of key EU-level youth participation mechanisms, such as the Youth Test and Vote at 16, and to assess their impact and implementation potential.
  • To enhance participants’ knowledge of European funding mechanisms, with focus on the Erasmus+ Programme and discussions around its future.

16th April – Youth participation realities and national contexts: mapping and exchanges of national good practices

17th April – Youth Test and Vote at 16

18th April – Cultural visit + Erasmus+ Programme Funding Mechanisms

19th April - Departures

Unless specified otherwise, the hosting NA or SALTO of this offer will organise the accommodation and covers the costs for accommodation and food.

Participation fee

This project is financed by the participating National Agencies (NAs) of the Erasmus+ Youth in Action Programme. The participation fee varies from country to country. Please contact your National Agency or SALTO Resource Centre (SALTO) to learn more about the participation fee for participants from your country.

If yes, after being selected, get in touch with your NA or SALTO again to learn more about the overall procedure to arrange the booking of your travel tickets and the reimbursement of your travel expenses.
