The global landscape of employment is rapidly evolving, driven by technological advancements, changing economic conditions, and shifting societal expectations. One critical aspect of this transformation is the impact on youth employment. To address these challenges and opportunities, a forum focused on exploring the state of play, research findings, and diverse policy approaches related to youth employment and the future of work is planned.

Forum is going to place in Belek, Antalya.

Objectives

The primary objectives of this forum are:

  • To assess the current state of youth employment in Europe and neighbouring countries, highlighting trends, challenges, and opportunities.
  • To showcase innovative research and practices in the field of youth employment and digitalization.
  • To discuss and debate various public policies and initiatives aimed at enhancing youth employability.
  • To explore the implications of AI and digitalization on future job prospects for young people.

Learn more about the clusters below and apply here by 30 September 2024. If selected, your travel, board and lodging for the whole duration of the forum will be fully covered by the Turkish Erasmus+ National Agency. 

Structure and Sessions

The forum will feature parallel sessions organized into three thematic clusters, each addressing crucial aspects of youth employment and future workforce dynamics:

Public Policies and Youth Employment: This cluster will delve into the role of public policies and interventions in fostering youth employment. Discussions will cover areas such as education reforms, skills training programs, labor market regulations, and youth entrepreneurship support.

Digitalization and the Future of Work: In this cluster, the focus will be on the impact of digital technologies and AI on youth employability. Topics will include the skills demanded by emerging technologies, gig economy opportunities, remote work trends, and the role of digital literacy in job readiness.

Innovative Pathways to Employment: The third cluster will explore novel approaches and initiatives that facilitate youth entry into the workforce. This will encompass discussions on social innovation, youth-led initiatives, creative industries, and sustainable employment models.

Expected Outcomes

  • To have enhanced understanding of the complex dynamics of youth employment in the context of digital transformation.
  • To gain insights into effective policy frameworks and innovative strategies for promoting youth inclusion in the workforce.
  • To identify the key challenges and opportunities in leveraging AI and digitalization for youth employability.
  • To establish network and collaboration among stakeholders committed to advancing youth employment agendas.

Target Group

The forum will bring together youth workers, policymakers, researchers, educators, industry leaders, youth advocates, young entrepreneurs, and representatives from international organizations and civil society, all with a shared interest in youth employment and future workforce trends.

The Forum is part of the Youth@Work Partnership, an institutional alliance of 13 Erasmus+ National Agencies and SALTO-YOUTH Resource Centres.
 

 

Accommodation and food

the Turkish National Agency will organise the accommodation and covers the costs for accommodation and food.

Participation fee

There is no participation fee.

Travel reimbursement

Please contact your NA or SALTO in order to know whether they would support your travel costs. If yes, after being selected, get in touch with your NA or SALTO again to learn more about the overall procedure to arrange the booking of your travel tickets and the reimbursement of your travel expenses.
