Youth@Work. Training Course for Strengthening Competences through Mental Wellbeing

This training course brings together youth workers to strengthen competences in promoting mental wellbeing. Participants will share good practices, learn from peers, network, and gain inspiration to develop future youth projects.

Description

This activity is part of the Youth@Work Partnership, supporting the development of youth employability, leadership, and wellbeing competencies through Erasmus+ programme . The training course will bring together youth workers, trainers, project managers, NGO representatives, and other stakeholders to explore practical approaches for integrating mental wellbeing into youth work.

The course will focus on promoting resilience, self-care, servant leadership, and mental health among young people, while equipping youth workers with tools and competences to support youth in challenging and uncertain environments.

Learning Objectives

Participants will:

  • Exchange good practices. Share lessons learned from ongoing or previous projects on youth wellbeing, resilience, and leadership development.
  • Strengthen personal and professional competences. Explore evidence-based strategies, including emotional intelligence, to support mental wellbeing in youth work.
  • Explore innovative approaches. Discuss tools, methods, and practical exercises for promoting resilience and mental health among young people.
  • Inspire follow-up initiatives. Build peer networks, co-create project ideas, and develop plans for future Erasmus+ applications.

Profile of Participants

We are looking for 26 participants from Erasmus+ Programme countries, Eastern Neighbourhood countries and Western Balkan countries who:

  • Have experience in youth work and an interest in mental wellbeing, resilience, and factors affecting mental health (e.g., social media, screens, pop-ups), including how technological advancements, such as AI, impact resilience, self-care, and mental health;
  • Are motivated to integrate mental wellbeing approaches into their work with young people;
  • Are ready to develop future Erasmus+ projects in this field.

Methodology

The programme will use non-formal education methods, including:

  • Interactive workshops and practical exercises;
  • Networking and partnership-building sessions;
  • Peer learning, thematic discussions, reflection activities, and case studies/case clinics.

Youth@Work Partnership 

Youth@Work is an alliance of Erasmus+/ESC National Agencies from Italy (lead), Cyprus, Greece, Hungary, Malta, Poland, the Republic of North Macedonia, Spain, and Türkiye, together with SALTO Resource Centres: Eastern Europe and Caucasus (Poland), South East Europe (Slovenia), and Training and Cooperation (Germany).

Accommodation and food

The hosting SALTO EECA with support of Polish National Agency will organise the accommodation and covers the costs for accommodation and food.

Working language

English

Participation fee

Participants from Poland and Eastern Neighbourhood countries are not required to pay a participation fee. Participants from other Programme Countries are requested to contact their National Agency to clarify whether a participation fee applies. Participants from the Western Balkan countries are requested to contact their respective SALTO Resource Centre to clarify this issue. The applicable conditions will depend on the policy of the relevant National Agency or SALTO Resource Centre.

Travel reimbursement

Please contact your National Agency (NA) or SALTO Resource Centre (SALTO) in order to know whether they would support your travel costs. If yes, after being selected, get in touch with your NA or SALTO again to learn more about the overall procedure to arrange the booking of your travel tickets and the reimbursement of your travel expenses.
