The OeAD at the Austria Day / Journée Autriche in Paris

On 11 May the Austria Day took place in Paris, organised by the Institut français d'Autriche, the French Embassy in Austria and Campus France Paris and supported by the OeAD.

Besides a presentation of the Austrian higher education and research landscape discussions included potential for improvement in lecturer mobility and administration as well as English as lingua franca. Other central topics were the possibility of increased cooperation through excellence scholarships, multi-campus universities, the formation of sustainable robust networks, and the increase of short-term mobility measures. The second round table was dedicated to the European Universities, an initiative for intensive cooperation, and the establishment of new formats in joint learning. Challenges in the implementation are, on one hand, the integration into national regulations and, on the other hand, strengthening the commitment within one’s own organisation. In match-making sessions in the afternoon partner organisations from both countries were able to get to know each other and intensify their cooperation.
