Strengthening Volunteering in Sport through Erasmus+
This transnational contact making seminar brings together sport volunteers and grassroots sport actors from across Europe to explore how Erasmus+ can strengthen volunteering in sport clubs and community organisations.

Volunteers are the backbone of grassroots sport. This programme offers participants the opportunity to exchange experiences, discover good practices, and develop practical skills to enhance volunteer engagement and sustainability within their own sporting contexts.
Objectives
The contact making seminar aims to:
- Discuss the vital role of volunteers in grassroots, community, and organisational sport;
- Share experiences and explore best practices across Europe;
- Develop deeper understanding of the social, educational and community building value of volunteering in grassroots sport;
- Create networking opportunities for participants;
- Increase understanding of the Erasmus+ Sport Programme, with a focus on opportunities under Sport Staff Mobility;
- Provide guidance and inspiration for developing Erasmus+ sport projects that support volunteering initiatives.
Methodology
The programme will include:
- Interactive workshops
- Group discussions and peer learning
- Practical exercises and collaborative activities
- Space for networking and partnership building
Expected outcomes
By the end of the programme, participants will:
- Gain practical tools for managing and motivating volunteers
- Increase confidence in accessing Erasmus+ Sport opportunities
- Develop new international contacts for future cooperation
- Create initial concepts for volunteering-focused projects
Profile of Participants
This training course is designed for:
- Sport volunteers, coaches, and club members
- Individuals involved in the management, coordination, or delivery of sport activities at grassroots level
- People working closely with volunteers within sport clubs, associations, or community sport organisations
Participants should be motivated to strengthen volunteering practices and explore Erasmus+ opportunities for their organisation.

This project is financed by the participating National Agencies (NAs) of the Erasmus+ Youth in Action Programme. The participation fee varies from country to country.
